Our services include inspection, testing and maintenance of fire extinguishers and other fire protection equipment to comply with the applicable codes, standards, and manufacturer service manuals.  We may make further recommendations to increase safety and/or performance.  We will clearly communicate what is required versus what is optional. The customer is responsible for ensuring the timely inspection of their fire protection equipment as per the required intervals.  As a courtesy, Mac Fire Protection may provide friendly reminders to our customers when service is due. 

By accepting our services, the customer agrees to the following terms and conditions:

1. Scope of Services:  All inspections, testing and maintenance are completed in accordance with Ohio Fire Code, NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards, and the manufacturers service manuals to ensure safety and compliance.

2. Estimates: We are happy to provide written estimates upon request.  Any estimates provided are based on the initial conversation with the customer and/or scope of work discussed.  Fire extinguisher estimates include only an inspection of the extinguishers unless otherwise noted on the estimate.  Please note that during the inspection of your fire extinguisher or other fire protection equipment, we may find deficiencies which we are required to correct to bring the fire protection system into compliance with the appropriate standard.  Mac Fire Protection may complete that necessary work without notifying the customer.  No work will be performed that exceeds 10% of the original estimate without prior customer approval.

3. Payment Terms: Payment is due upon completion of services or as per the agreed-upon terms. Any outstanding balance not paid within 30 days of the due date will incur a late fee of 2% per month on the past due amount. 

4. Compliance Reporting Fees:  Some Authority’s Having Jurisdiction (AHJ’s) require fire protection contractors to report the compliance of fire protection systems that we service to a third party. These third parties charge a fee for this reporting. Since not all jurisdictions require this reporting, we do not include this in our pricing.   You may see a charge on your invoice if your jurisdiction requires compliance reporting to a third party that charges a fee.  To determine if your municipality has any compliance reporting requirements, contact your AHJ (typically the Fire Prevention Bureau of your local fire department).

5. Completion of Work:  All work will be completed within a reasonable time frame based on availability of parts and scheduling.

6. Access to Equipment: The customer is responsible for providing safe, open access to the fire protection equipment being inspected, serviced, or installed. Failure to provide adequate access may result in delays or additional charges.

7. Subcontractors:  Mac Fire Protection may use subcontractors as we deem necessary to complete the requested service in a timely manner.  When we do this, we will work on your behalf to ensure the subcontractors are licensed and insured, the work is completed in a timely manner, any required reporting is submitted.  We will also review and discuss the reports with our customer, discuss any deficiencies found and the need for any maintenance or repairs. 

8.  Liability: Your fire protection equipment will be serviced by an individual certified by the State of Ohio in accordance with NFPA Standards and the Ohio Fire Code. The certified individual and Mac Fire Protection assume no liability for defective operation as it may be due to causes beyond our control. All fire extinguishers should be inspected monthly per NFPA 10.
